Pathways to success through school futsal.

Now in its 17th year, NNSW Futsal delivers regional school tournaments that give students more games, more touches and more opportunities to progress in futsal.

School Futsal across Northern NSW

Every year, more primary and secondary schools take part in NNSW Futsal school competitions. Private and public schools from Newcastle, Hunter Valley, Lake Macquarie and the Central Coast are invited to enter teams.

Unlike traditional knockout competitions, school futsal gives teams several games and creates pathways for both students and schools to progress through regional, Northern NSW and national events.

NNSW Futsal works in collaboration with the Australian Futsal Association to provide further pathways for students and teachers.

Introduction to Futsal for Teachers

Schools can enquire about a FREE two-hour Introduction to Futsal Coaching course for teachers, with a limit of two teachers per school.

Primary schools

Age groups are determined by the age each child turns during the calendar year.

  • U8 Boys — mixed teams permitted
  • U10 Boys & U10 Girls
  • U12 Boys & U12 Girls

2026 fee: $165 per team.

High schools

Age groups are determined by the age each student turns during the calendar year.

  • U14 Boys & Girls
  • U16 Boys & Girls
  • U19 Boys & Girls

2026 fee: $165 per team.

Regional competitions

Northern NSW Futsal school competitions are offered across four regions:

  • Newcastle
  • Lake Macquarie
  • Hunter Valley
  • Central Coast

What the fees cover

Team fees cover venue hire, qualified referees, NNSW/AFA school membership fees, and winner and runner-up medallions.

NNSW Futsal is recognised as a NSW Government-certified supplier for schools using the NSW schools government system.

Northern NSW Futsal School Regionals
Schools compete in their local regional tournament.

Northern NSW Futsal Champion of Champions
Winners and runners-up from regional tournaments can progress to represent their school at the Northern NSW Champion of Champions round.

AFA National Schools Champion of Champions
The Northern NSW Champion of Champions winner is invited to the national tournament, where school teams from across Australia compete in November.
